Canada!!!

Canada is a country north of America, and is the worlds second largest country in terms of area of land. A major part of Canadian life is sport, and in particular, Ice Hockey. Ice hockey is recognised around the world and is an olympic sport, however the countries that are most efficient at it have long term cold periods and ice cover.

Another major part of Canada is its beautiful Rockies mountain range, which provide some intensly challenging hikes and walks, some requiring glacial and crevasse rescue knowledge.

Mount Robson is the Rockies highes point at almost 4000 meters above sea level!!!
There are two main languages in Canada: English and French. This is due to colonization by European countries. Canada is one of the wealthiest first world countries on the globe, and had a low average unemployment rate. Its a great place to holiday or live!!!

Cheers, Tom

Overland Track!!!

The Overland track is one of Tasmania's, and by extension, Australias most famous bush walks. The overland track is a hike through the Cradle-Mountain Lake St Claire National Park, and will normally take around 7 days to complete.

There are several huts along the track, and the track itself has been developed with several of the muddiest sections being covered by a boardwalk. There are also the options for both inexperienced and experienced walkers, with a totally guided and hot meal provided tour of the walk, or camping grounds and side tracks such as Tasmania's highest peak, Mt Ossa (which you can camp on top of!!!)

The track is heavily used, and has therefore had a limit placed on it. Only a certain amount of people can be walking the track at one time during peak, and around 8000 people will walk the track in a year.

The Overland track is one of Australias most beautiful walks, with the countryside carved out by glacier through the last ice age.

Cheers, Tom

Dolomites, Italy!!!

The Dolomites are a mountain range in Italy, spanning along northen Italy's borders. The Dolomites are famous for their stunning views, winter skiing, hiking and even base jumping.

One of the greatest parts of the Dolomites is its winter skiing. With more than 15 connected villages, and over 450 lifts (including T-Bars, chairlifts and gondolas), you never do the same run twice. The food is another major part of Italy, and therefore the Dolomites, with fabulous pastas and pizzas at the top of most gondolas.

There is also a day trip, around a monolith named the Sellaronda, where you ski all the way around this monolith, back to the village you started at. It normally takes a whole day! And then if you want another full day, you can go the other way around, for a completely different experience.

Cheers, Tom

The Island of Manx

Hey everyone, just want to share about an island located in the Irish Sea between the islands of Great Britain and Ireland. Even though I haven't had any chance of visiting the place but my brother who's been living there for quite a long time keeps me updated about this island which is known as ISLE OF MAN.

Resident of Isle of Man is known as MANX. It is a self governing island however, it is not a part of United Kingdom. The island experiences cool summer, extreme winters and rainfall most of the time throughout the year.

The most prestigious motorcycle race is held in Isle of Man which is known as Isle of Man TT (Tourist Trophy) Race.

I am very interested in sports so motor racing sounds exciting and I love motor bikes. This is the event in which we get chance to see all kinds of motorcycles of the world. Whenever my brother talks about this event I get so excited and I am really looking forward to attend this match and watch it live very soon.

So Much to do in Melbourne

City dwellers it’s time to explore Melbourne, I have never been to a city with quite so much to do and experience, you should really go and check it all out. There is cheese and wine tasting all around, they’re great to unwind at and really remember what living is all about.

You can go on hot balloon rides over the country valley, that’s what I want to do next time I’m there, just to take in Australia’s beautiful landscape.

If you like things a bit more fast paced head to the CBD and hit the shops of Melbourne, the Museum or the Art galleries. There is always an event on, so check online to see what is going on and plan your trip to be there.

The city of Love

Bonjour fellow bloggers! Recently, I’ve developed an interest in touring the beautiful country of France and would like to share this with you. France is located in Western Europe and has a number of different sites/attractions where there are many activities for both children and adults to undertake.

In my opinion, if you’re looking for an adventure for both adults and children, Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney Studios Park are a definite place to visit.

For a look at some amazing buildings and architecture, the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe are breath taking sites to visit.

For those who are interested in learning a bit about French history, consider visiting the Louvre Museum and the Palace of Versailles. France is also known for providing tourists with sites for making a religious pilgrimage, the most popular of these being Lourdes and Mount Saint Michael.

This country is also home to some major internationally televised sports such as the Tour de France (road bicycle race) and the French Open (tennis).

Tour de France
If any of these activities sound like you, then France is definitely a place you must visit. Au revoir from Carol!!

Tropical Paradise Is Not Too Far Away

Holiday lovers eat your heart out at Hamilton Island, it’s the ultimate relaxation location set in the tropics of Australia, just off the coast of Queensland. This beautiful, little island is made for people who love anything to do with water. The best part is that you drive around in little golf buggies to get from place to place.
                           picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/6xP0yOF-dVOPoP4fHMoLOA, 3/10/10

There are so many pools to swim in some with set in bars and some for kids, some are fancy and some are just for fun.
There are activities you can organise to go on, like snorkelling along the Great Barrier Reef and you could get close to a sea turtle if your lucky, you can see all the colourful fish of the reef. The water is really clear, there isn’t anything like it.
                               www.wayfaring.info/index.php?s=great+barrier+reef, 3/10/10

You can go tubing and water skiing and for the daredevils out there you can go paragliding for the thrill of being up high.
The option is to stay at hotels with buffet meals or serviced apartments for extra space, whatever your choice don’t forget to take some time out to just take it all in and breath in the fresh air because you can easily forget to relax with all the excitement on the island. Another holiday suggested by Jen.

Back and Blogging

Hi all,
My name is Tom and this is my belated first post. I love traveling, the new experiences, the various cultures, the differing beliefs and opinions. For an 18 year old, i believe I have done quite a bit of travelling around the world, to places such as Asia, Europe and America. For the last two weeks, I have been hiking the Frenchmans Cap walk in Tasmania, despite the poor weather. However for me, this blog is not just about past experiences, but more about places that draw my interest, through their exotic language or amazing food (Italy). So I will continue blogging about my future dreams, whilst also adding it bits and pieces of previous experience from different cultures. The world is a big place, and we will never see it all!
Tom.
